Age UK has produced a factsheet that is designed to help people recognise if an older person being abused or at risk of abuse.

British Medical Association (BMA)

The BMA has published new guidance to help doctors protect vulnerable adults. While the guidance is principally aimed at GPs, any professional working in health care settings with vulnerable adults will find it useful.

Multiple Sclerosis Society (MSS)

MSS has produced information for volunteers to help them prevent and identify adult abuse

NMC Safeguarding Resources

Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) has produced a series of short films and an online resource hub to help nurses and midwives protect patients and their families from abuse, including poor practice. The films Safeguarding adults - if you don't do something, who will? - is supported by a suite of training tools including a PowerPoint presentation which can be adapted to promote local policies. 

SSIA (Wales)

SSIA supports local authorities to enhance service delivery. It has a useful section on the protection of vulnerable adults (POVA) including a definition of abuse and details of the adult protection committees across Wales.

"Safeguarding for the protection of vulnerable adults", an educational DVD made by Hafal mental health service users and carers in conjunction with Wrexham County Borough Council and the Social Services Improvement Agency (SSIA), has been launched. It can be viewed on the SSIA website.

University of Stirling

The University of Stirling has undertaken an evaluation of how practitoners support and protect adults at risk of harm in light of the Adult Support  and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007
