In September 2011, Betsi Cadwalader Health Board (BCUB) introduced Caring Champions on  Ward One at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital. The aim is to put dignity and respect at the heart of care services. The carer of the month is nominated by colleagues but predominately by patients and their relatives.
